wesli's great, great grandmother made this green afghan. i can crochet, but there is a reason i make hats. that is a HUGE project. i cant even imagine how many hours were put into it. i think she would be pleased to know that it's still getting use all these years later. mary udy- your struggles were not in vain!
i spent money on the bedding and rug. like i got them from a real, actual store, not at the D.I. or my dads shop. big thanks to darin for letting me buy my dream bedding, even though we are poor. darin always lets me get what i want if i beg him long enough. he must really love me or something.
i kind of hate the silhouette. it's so thick, that it doesn't lay flat against the background. perhaps i shouldn't have used a cafe rio lid, but apparently they don't make metallic scrap book paper.
the cross stitch says 'i will bring the light of the gospel into my home' it is quite possibly my favorite thing about the room. this is why:
wlp? wanda lyn palmer. my mommy. i think she was 11.
the dresser. truthfully i kind of cringe when i look at it. scrap book paper on the dresser drawers of a two year old = not my best idea. as you can see she couldn't wait to get her cute, chubby, little fingers on it. ripped it to shreds. i still love her.
the curtains were the last thing i needed for the room because i'm intimidated by the sewing machine. but i finally conquered my fears. please don't look too close. i can't sew a straight line to save my life.
i scoured the universe for antique books with classic children's titles in colors to match wesli's room. then i decided i was being ridiculous and i should just get old books that were the right colors. that's how i explain the 'preface to critical reading' sitting on my toddlers dresser.
i know this is not every ones taste. i fully expect most people to look at this and think it's nothing more than a collection of junk. but i like it.
